Sedona Hiking Trails
Although there are far too many hikes in the Sedona area to list, the following day hikes are a small selection of the many varieties of trails available in the region. We hope that you enjoy the amazing sights and sounds that Sedona’s natural backyard has to offer.
To get an up to date list of the more than 100 hiking trails in the Sedona area, be sure and stop in at one of the visitor centers for maps and a Red Rock Pass. There are four (4) Red Rock Passes, (daily, weekly, annual, and grand annual) from which to choose to fit your personal needs. All vehicles parked on the Coconino National Forest for non-commercial, recreational purposes are required to display a “Red Rock Pass”. This program was designed to help preserve and restore the awe-inspiring natural resource for visitors today and tomorrow and is only required for those vehicles parked, not traveling through or stopping for a photograph or to use the washroom. Please abide by all park rules as they are in place for the benefit of everyone.
EASY-MODERATE
Bear Sign Canyon
- try this easy hike into Red Rock Secret Wilderness to experience some wonderful views and the running creek. Distance: 3.2 miles.
Bell Rock
- one of Sedona’s most visited vortexes. Bell Rock is believed to bring increased energy and calm to those that visit it. Distance: 2 miles
MODERATE-DIFFICULT
- wide, winding trail to the top of the Mesa with stunning views along the way.
West Fork Trail
- a beautiful hike criss crossing Oak Creek. Distance: 6 miles (return).
DIFFICULT
Casner Mountain Trail
- abundant in wildlife, this trails starts with a very strenuous ascent levels out to grasslands once on top. Distance: 14 miles (return).
Wilson Mountain Trail
- this trail offers an eagle’s view of Oak Creek Canyon and the surrounding mountains but the trail is steep and strenuous. Distance: 5.6 miles.
